We had a large cast in mind (not everyone showed up) and a story to be told. The cast and story have changed a bit and this is just a brief glimpse into today’s storybook shoot.

In the land of Nod, a dream slowly fades. Three far from home, take shelter in the shades.

Their surroundings crumble, their faces yearn for light, longing for those imaginations that bring magic in the night.

Even though she never spoke, her actions followed suit. Her movements much now like her mouth, limbs had fallen mute.

Her dancing shoes worn, feet longing to pirouette. From the broken dreams that they now dwell, hope had not yet left.


A light appeared and from within a voice was heard – a quiet sound, one single word … “hello?”

“Have you come to save us? Please say it’s true. We would love some help from someone such as you.”

I did get these done today though. It’s a baby parts story board that I made. I make one for every newborn, but change it a little so it’s different for each family and can also customize to match the nursery. I pulled these colors straight from his bedding.

I know, I know, I always have a hammock shot with each newborn, but I’m so addicted, at least the props change … slightly … and the baby is always new! Finally my husband had some time off work – working for the world’s worst unit – and I was able to do my shoots and have some family time for once.  I joined Deni and gorgeous model friend Erin for this fun, vintage shoot. I am not a vintage editor at all, so I edited these ‘the Anya way’. Deni will probably give them the correct post processing and you can see those on her blog once she puts them up.

We found some random guys who were sport enough to pose with her! They were awesome, and if you guys are seeing this, arigato gozaimasu! – and e-mail me if you want your photograph!
